Illyria feels a degree of pity for creatures that do not have senses like hers.

She has wondered before how such creatures survive, the isolation they endure, the things they cannot feel; the ways they cannot communicate with their own.

Touch is the most uncommon form of affection-sharing for her species. Contact is in itself a language of images, emotions and memories. It is their deepest intimacy.

Illyria takes touching her loved ones very seriously--a hugely important stage of communication to be used for the most complex and meaningful situations, rather than trivialities like loneliness or hurt feelings.

She still does it, anyway.
